a. Caterpillar list API CH-4 and API CI-4 as preferred oils and API CG-4 as an acceptable alternative. These oils must meet Caterpillar's ECF-1 specification to avoid reduced engine life. API CF-4 should not be used in Caterpillar diesel engines
b. Alternative recommendations, -30°C to 40°C: Qualube SS 75W90 / Qualube Syntogear FS TDL 75W90
c. Alternative recommendations, -20°C to 40°C: Qualube HD EP 80W90 / Qualube Syntogear TDL 80W90 / Qualube LS HD EP 80W90
